What is a deathwalker?
Also known as a death doula.
- A person who walks with, or accompanies others in their death journey, including the person who is dying, their family and friends.
- A person offering guidance, support and care, and who is also a resource to inform, empower and enable a dying person, family and friends, to be open, courageous and the best they can, through dying, death, loss, and ceremony. For example, from the time of a serious diagnosis, through to bereavement.
- A person who walks their own journey towards death openly, and courageously in the best way they can.
As a deathwalker I offer continuing care, and information, which includes emotional, spiritual, and practical support. This is based upon an individual’s and their loved ones needs, wishes and requirements.
